How God leads never ceases to amaze me! Some things came up over the weekend that just showed me the awesomeness of our Great Lord. He puts things in our hearts to pray for and we have no clue why we're praying this prayer, but then we see God weaving that tapestry and His working in someone else. We start to see some of His purpose.
God has been putting certain people on my heart. Some of it I have figured out why I am praying for them and seeing what God is doing in them and through them; others, I am not sure why God has laid them on my heart and what I am specifically supposed to pray for, so I pray for God to work how He sees fit.
He has just been showing me how important prayer is in the Christian's life. I must admit that, although I have been saved since the age of 10 (29 years!) I have not fully grasped how to live the Christian life until very recently. Prayer is such an integral part of the believer's life, it's how we communicate with our Lord. Without this aspect, we can't grow. I can't tell you how many times I have neglected this part of my life over the years. I'm ashamed of how "far behind" I am from where I should be, but I am so thankful that He has not once ever given up on me!
Last night's message in Daniel really struck me - Daniel prayed. God answered. Daniel praised God! It was just so awesome and amazing. I want to be a fervant prayer!
I love how He draws us to Himself and who He chooses to use to draw us to Him. "Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer Blessed Lord!"
