This morning during my devotions, my prayer was that I would not take this great salvation for granted. Sometimes we pray the prayer, "Lord, save me." and we're done. We go about our day and don't even think about what that salvation that was freely given to us cost God the Father. How would I feel if I had to sacrifice one of my children???
Shortly after my devotions, we headed off to church. A special person in our lives was giving the devotional before the Easter breakfast. I could not have know what he was speaking on, neither could he have know what my prayer had been only hours earlier, but he spoke on how easy it is to get busy with life and forget what God has done for us, what the resurrection truly means.
I thank God, and I try to remember each day, for the great salvation that He has given me. The salvation that He has freely given me has cost Him dearly. He sent his Beloved Son to earth to die and take my sin upon Him. Not only did He die, but He rose again, giving me life eternal. How I neglect this great salvation? To praise Him and thank Him each and every day is only my reasonable service!
"But now is Christ risen from the dead ... "
