Christ, my All in All

"And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

There are things in our lives that God has put there for a reason. It's not for us to know, but for Him to know. We can ask Him over and over again to remove it, but for purposes that only He knows, He chooses to leave it there. Only when we come to that knowledge, rather acceptance, that it is for His honor and glory that He leaves things, will we accept it. God has to bring us to the low places to make us realize that we need Him. Many times, it's like a slap upside the head to get us to see that. "For when I am weak [of my own power], then am I strong [by God's power]." I wish that it wasn't so hard for my thick skull to grasp this concept! I really wish that God didn't have to dope slap me every time!

He will always bring us to the place, as low as it needs to be, where we realize that Christ alone is our all sufficiency! Friends on earth will fail us, enemies will hurt us, but Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is my All in All ... forever and always! Praise God!
